Arts & Culture

The Manning Valley features a wide variety of arts and cultural attractions to experience, many of which are located in breathtaking hinterland and seaside settings.

From history museums and quaint tea houses featuring local handicrafts, to galleries showcasing award-winning artists, you’re sure to find something you’ll love.

For a true touch of culture during your stay, visit the Manning Regional Art Gallery. This small regional gallery is not to be underestimated as they are committed to bringing world class exhibitions to the region, including the Archibald Prize.

Another must-do is treating yourself to a night out at the Manning Entertainment Centre which holds some fabulous shows throughout the year.

Manning Valley Libraries

Manning Valley Libraries includes five libraries across the Manning Valley at Taree, Wingham, Hallidays Point, Harrington and Old Bar. Our libraries are the ‘community lounge room’ – so when you visit one of our libraries you can browse for a book or DVD, lounge around in our comfy chairs and read a magazine or use the wi-fi or a computer. You can enjoy a wide range of regular and school holiday events and workshops. We have an extensive local history and family history archive of documents, images and printed resources – so why not look up an ancestor while you are visiting. We also have ‘print from anywhere’ facilities where you can print from your PC or mobile device to a library printer. Our libraries are open weekdays from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and on Saturdays from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. Taree Library is open from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturdays.
